Mandatory Reporting

School personnel are mandatory reporters, which means they are required by state law to watch for signs of child abuse and neglect, and they are also required by law to report any information or suspicions to the proper authorities.

 

Non-discrimination Notice

The Sevier County Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of racee, color, national origin, disability, age (40 and over), sex, special education status, religion, pregnance, military/veteran status, or genetic information in provision of educational opportunities, progreams, activities, or emploment opportunities/benefits. Harassment

Anyone believing they have experienced sexual, racial, ethnic, and/or religious harassment should report this to either jeff Moore (Principal), or Russell Allen (Assistant Principal) at the School level (865-429-3908). At the Central Office level, notify Dr. John Enloe if the situation involves students, and Karen King if it involves employees. Both may be reached at 865-453-4671.

Children and Youth in Transition

McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act

The Sevier County School System will ensure that all children and youth receive a free appropriate public education and are given meaningful opportunities for success in school. The system will follow the requirements outlined in the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Ace. A copy of the policies related to mcKinney-Vento is available in the school office.

Severe Weather Closings

School Cancelled, Delayed Opening, and Early Closures

Announcements by Director of Schools Jack Parton concerning the closing of schools, or a delayed opening schedule, in Sevier County will be made on local radio and television stations. In the event of an emergency or abrupt closing, a phone messaging service will be utilized. When the primary phone number for a student changes, the parent or guardianshould contact school officials and provide the new number, and request that the child's phone number be updated on all enrollment information, as well as in the district' smessaging system.
